A Message of encouragement:
If like me you were born with PHPV (Persistent Hyperplastic Primary Vitreous) or one of your family has the condition, please be encouraged that it's not the end of the world.
Having vision in only one eye does have its challanges and when I was young, doctors told my parents I wouldn't be able to play sport and would have depth perception issues that would prevent me from alot of activities.
But here I am all these years later working as a mechanic and racing everything from Karts to Formula Ford and Legends.
Having limited sight just means sometimes you might need to approach things in a slightly different way, but it doesn't mean you have to give up on it all together.
Obviously you should only do what you feel comfortable with, but at the same time you cannot let yourself be bound by other people's opinions.
Get out there, have a go and try not to listen to all the negative. If at any time it all gets a bit much, contact me and we'll work through it together.
